What is the name of Simba's father?
Answer
Mufasa
Answer
Mufasa
Simba’s father in The Lion King is Mufasa.
Mufasa is introduced in the 1994 animated film as the wise and benevolent king of the Pride Lands. He raises Simba as his heir and teaches him that a ruler must understand responsibility, respect, and the balance connecting all living things.
Mufasa’s younger brother, Scar, envies his position and plots to take the throne. Scar’s betrayal leads to Mufasa’s death during the wildebeest stampede, after which Simba is manipulated into leaving the Pride Lands. Mufasa later appears to his adult son as a spiritual vision, urging Simba to return and accept his responsibilities.
Viewers sometimes confuse Mufasa with Scar because both are adult male lions central to Simba’s family story. Scar is Simba’s uncle, not his father. Mufasa’s mate is Sarabi, and his death is the event that drives much of the original film’s emotional and narrative arc.
