What is the name of Paddington Bear’s creator?

The story behind the answer

Paddington Bear was created by British author Michael Bond.

Bond introduced the character in the 1958 children’s book A Bear Called Paddington. He imagined a small, lonely bear found at London’s Paddington Station and developed the stories around kindness, mishaps, and cultural curiosity.

Although Paddington became famous through books, the character later appeared in television series, picture books, merchandise, and feature films. Bond continued writing Paddington stories for decades, while illustrator Peggy Fortnum established much of the bear’s classic visual appearance.

People sometimes confuse Paddington’s creator with the actors who played or voiced him in later adaptations. Bond was the author who originated the character and his fictional world, not a film performer.
