Lululemon’s annual half marathon held in Vancouver was called SeaWheeze. The event paired a road race with the brand’s distinctive community and lifestyle programming, making it more than a conventional city running event.
The first SeaWheeze Half Marathon and Sunset Festival took place in 2011. Runners followed a 21.1-kilometre half-marathon course through Vancouver, while the surrounding festival included music, entertainment and activities connected with the Lululemon brand.
The name is a blend of “sea” and “squeeze,” reflecting Vancouver’s coastal setting and the event’s energetic, communal atmosphere. It is not the same as a generic Lululemon 10K, nor is “Sweat & Stride” an official name for the race.
SeaWheeze became closely associated with limited-edition event merchandise, especially the popular shorts and other gear released around race weekend. Lululemon later shifted its event strategy, and the race is no longer a regular fixture in the same form, but SeaWheeze remains the canonical name for the Vancouver half marathon.
