Beyoncé’s country-influenced 2024 album, the second act of a planned trilogy, is titled Cowboy Carter.
The album was released on March 29, 2024, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. It followed Renaissance, which Beyoncé described as the first act of a three-act project. Cowboy Carter explores country music while also drawing on pop, blues, folk, rock, R&B, and other American traditions.
The record includes “Texas Hold ’Em,” “16 Carriages,” and “II Most Wanted.” Its title uses “Carter,” Beyoncé’s married surname, and reflects her interest in examining the history and boundaries of country music. The album was initially announced under the working title Act II, so “Act II” is a project label rather than its final title.
