What is the name of Beyoncé’s character in the animated film Epic?

Beyoncé voiced Queen Tara in the animated film Epic.

Released in 2013, Epic was produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Chris Wedge. The fantasy film follows a teenager who is magically reduced in size and drawn into a hidden forest world populated by tiny leaf people.

Queen Tara is the benevolent ruler of the Leafmen’s kingdom and a guardian of the forest. Beyoncé provided the character’s speaking voice and also contributed the song “Rise Up” to the film’s soundtrack.

The voice cast included Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Christoph Waltz, Aziz Ansari, and Steve Martin. Epic is sometimes confused with Beyoncé’s live-action film roles, including Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records.
