What is the name of Beyoncé’s 2024 album widely described as Act II of her trilogy?

Beyoncé’s 2024 album widely described as Act II of her trilogy is Cowboy Carter.

Cowboy Carter was released on March 29, 2024, as Beyoncé’s eighth studio album. It follows Renaissance, which was presented as Act I of a planned three-act project. The album explores country, Americana, folk, blues, rock, and related musical traditions while also addressing the history of Black artists in country music.

Its singles included “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” “Texas Hold ’Em” became Beyoncé’s first number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100 and made her the first Black woman to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The album also includes “Jolene,” a reworking of Dolly Parton’s classic song.

The album is sometimes called simply Act II, but Cowboy Carter is its official title. The project is not the same as The Lion King: The Gift, Beyoncé’s 2019 album inspired by the 2019 film.
