Homecoming is Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella concert film and accompanying live album.
Netflix released Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé on April 17, 2019. The documentary records Beyoncé’s performances at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and includes rehearsal footage, backstage material, and commentary about the production. Beyoncé also served as a producer and director on the film.
Her 2018 Coachella appearance was historic: she became the first Black woman to headline the festival. The performance celebrated historically Black colleges and universities through marching-band arrangements, majorette choreography, drumlines, and a large ensemble of dancers and musicians.
The live album Homecoming: The Live Album was released alongside the film. Its track list draws from Beyoncé’s solo catalog and Destiny’s Child repertoire. The title is sometimes confused with Black Is King, a 2020 visual album connected to The Lion King: The Gift, but Homecoming specifically documents the Coachella performance.
