Beyoncé’s 2006 studio album inspired by her 25th birthday is B’Day.
B’Day was released on September 4, 2006, Beyoncé’s 25th birthday. The title is a compressed form of “birthday,” and the album was recorded in a short, intensive period after Beyoncé completed filming for the movie Dreamgirls.
Its singles included “Déjà Vu,” “Ring the Alarm,” and “Irreplaceable.” The album’s sound moved through contemporary R&B, pop, funk, and hip-hop, while its promotion included performances and an expanded deluxe edition with additional songs.
B’Day was Beyoncé’s second solo studio album, following Dangerously in Love. The title is sometimes confused with her later album 4, released in 2011, but the birthday connection belongs specifically to B’Day.
