Rome is the main historical setting of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Ezio Auditore travels there to oppose the Borgia family and weaken Templar control over the city.
Unlike Assassin’s Creed II, which moves among several Italian regions, Brotherhood concentrates much of its action in one large version of Renaissance Rome. Players liberate districts, recruit fellow Assassins, restore businesses, and develop the city while pursuing Cesare Borgia.
The game also continues Desmond Miles’s modern-day storyline. Its title reflects the expanded Assassin network Ezio builds, while the Rome setting allows the game to combine urban exploration, political conflict, and the historical power of the Papal States.
