In Assassin's Creed Origins, Alexandria is home to the Great Library visited by Bayek.
Alexandria is one of the major cities in the game's Ptolemaic Egyptian setting. Bayek travels there during the story and encounters the Great Library, an institution associated with scholarship, books, and the intellectual life of the Hellenistic world. The city also connects the game to Cleopatra and the political struggles surrounding Egypt.
Memphis is another major Egyptian city, while Siwa is Bayek's home region and the place where his journey begins. Cyrene, located in modern-day Libya, is also represented in the game. These locations are geographically and narratively distinct.
The historical Library of Alexandria is famous, but surviving evidence about its buildings, collections, and destruction is incomplete. Origins therefore presents a dramatized reconstruction that combines known ancient history with fictional characters, quests, and the series' hidden-war mythology.
