The men’s pommel horse is 115 centimetres high from its top surface to the floor. FIG apparatus norms allow a tolerance of about 1 centimetre, but 115 centimetres is the standard regulation figure used in trivia and apparatus specifications.
The horse is about 160 centimetres long at the top and 35 centimetres wide there. Two pommels sit on its surface, with an adjustable separation of roughly 40 to 45 centimetres. The apparatus is covered in leather or a similar material to provide a controlled handhold during rapid swings.
Pommel-horse routines emphasize continuous support and circular motion. Gymnasts perform single-leg scissors as well as the double-leg circles that define the event, moving across the horse and sometimes using flairs, turns and travel sequences. The height is easy to confuse with the apparatus’s length or with women’s vaulting equipment, but the 115-centimetre measurement specifically means the top of the men’s horse to the floor.
