Harry is the first name of Helen Tasker’s husband in James Cameron’s True Lies.
Harry Tasker, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, leads a double life. To his family, he appears to be a computer salesman; secretly, he works as an agent for a United States intelligence organization. Helen, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, believes that her husband’s routine is ordinary until the film’s espionage plot begins to affect their marriage.
The story uses Harry’s hidden profession to combine international action with domestic comedy. His attempt to investigate a possible affair becomes entangled with a terrorist threat, forcing Helen into the dangerous world he had concealed from her.
Harry Tasker should not be confused with the film’s villain, Aziz, or with the real-world intelligence agencies referenced in the story. “Tasker” is the character’s surname, while Harry is the requested first name. The film was released in 1994 and was written and directed by Cameron.
