What is the first hub world in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!?

The story behind the answer

The first hub world in Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! is Summer Forest. Spyro arrives in Avalar through a portal and begins his adventure in Glimmer, a realm connected to the Summer Forest homeworld. From there, players enter several levels, collect talismans, gather orbs, and unlock the route toward the next hub.

Summer Forest introduces the game’s main structure and several of its new mechanics, including swimming, climbing, headbash attacks, and temporary power-up gates. Spyro must collect six talismans in the realms linked to Summer Forest before facing Crush, Ripto’s powerful minion. After that battle, the story moves forward to Autumn Plains.

Winter Tundra is the third and final main hub world, so it cannot be the opening area. Glimmer is a regular realm within Summer Forest rather than the hub itself. The game’s three-homeworld progression—Summer Forest, Autumn Plains, and Winter Tundra—is one of the clearest ways to distinguish the hub worlds from their individual levels.
