Answer
Nine darts
Answer
Nine darts
Nine darts is the fewest needed to complete a perfect 501 leg in darts.
A standard leg begins at 501 and must finish on a double or the bull. The most famous nine-dart route is two visits of 180, followed by a 141 checkout, commonly scored as treble 20, treble 19 and double 12.
The achievement is called a nine-dart finish, or sometimes a nine-darter. It is the darts equivalent of a perfect game because every scoring visit is maximized while the final visit reaches exactly zero under the double-out rule.
Other nine-dart combinations are possible. The familiar 180, 180, 141 route is therefore not the only valid pattern, although it is the standard example used in broadcasts and statistics.
