Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup’s boy counterparts in The Powerpuff Girls are called the Rowdyruff Boys.
The trio consists of Brick, Boomer, and Butch. They were created by Mojo Jojo as hostile counterparts to the Powerpuff Girls, giving the series a deliberately mirrored team of young superpowered characters.
The Rowdyruff Boys first appear in the episode “The Boys Are Back in Town.” Their personalities and color coding echo the girls, but their behavior is deliberately unruly and boastful. The rivalry is a recurring example of the show’s use of comic opposites rather than a simple hero-versus-monster formula.
They are sometimes confused with other groups from the series. The Gangreen Gang is a separate group of teenage villains, while the Amoeba Boys are three incompetent amoebas. Neither group is the girls’ direct boy counterpart.
