Beyoncé’s stage alter ego is named Sasha Fierce.
Beyoncé introduced Sasha Fierce as a performance persona connected to her 2008 double album I Am... Sasha Fierce. The album’s two discs were designed around contrasting sides: the “I Am...” disc emphasized ballads and personal songs, while the “Sasha Fierce” disc focused more on energetic, dance-oriented material.
Beyoncé described Sasha Fierce as a more fearless stage identity that helped her separate performance from everyday life. The persona is especially associated with songs such as “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and “Diva.”
The name is sometimes treated as the title of the album rather than an alter ego. Beyoncé later said she no longer needed to use Sasha Fierce because she had grown more comfortable bringing that confidence into her own identity.
