What group of female warriors is Suki a member of?

Suki is a member of the Kyoshi Warriors, the elite all-female fighting group from Kyoshi Island.

The warriors honor Avatar Kyoshi, who founded their distinctive tradition centuries before Aang’s time. They wear Kyoshi-inspired makeup, armor, fans, and uniforms, combining acrobatics with disciplined hand-to-hand combat. Suki is the group’s leader when Team Avatar first meets them.

Suki initially captures Sokka after he dismisses the warriors as inferior because they are girls. After seeing their skill, Sokka apologizes and asks Suki to train him. Their meeting develops into a close relationship, and Suki later becomes an important ally of Team Avatar.

The Kyoshi Warriors are not the same as the Dai Li, the secret police of Ba Sing Se, or the White Lotus, an international society of influential masters. “Freedom Fighters” refers to Jet’s resistance group, another separate organization.
