Destiny’s Child featured Beyoncé before her solo career became prominent.

The group formed in Houston in the 1990s under the management of Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles. Its best-known lineup consisted of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, although the group had earlier members and lineup changes.

Destiny’s Child became one of the best-selling female groups in music history. Major songs included “Say My Name,” “Survivor,” “Bootylicious,” and “Independent Women Part I.”

The group announced a hiatus in 2002 and later officially disbanded. Beyoncé’s first solo album followed in 2003, while Rowland and Williams also pursued individual careers. The group reunited for selected performances, including Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.
