What group did Beyoncé form with Kelly Rowland and LaTavia Roberson?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé formed Destiny’s Child with Kelly Rowland and LaTavia Roberson.

The group began in Houston in 1990 under the name Girl’s Tyme, when its members were children. After appearing on the television talent show Star Search, the group changed its name to Destiny’s Child and signed with Columbia Records in the 1990s.

Destiny’s Child’s breakthrough came with songs such as “No, No, No,” “Bills, Bills, Bills,” and “Say My Name.” The lineup changed several times, and Michelle Williams joined Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland in the best-known final lineup. That trio produced major hits including “Survivor” and “Bootylicious.”

The group went on hiatus in 2002, reunited for selected appearances, and formally disbanded in 2006. Beyoncé’s later solo success began while Destiny’s Child was still active, making the group a central part of her early career rather than a separate starting point.
