What event inspired Beyoncé’s 2019 concert film Homecoming?
Answer
Her 2018 Coachella performances
Beyoncé’s 2019 concert film Homecoming was inspired by her 2018 Coachella performances.
Beyoncé headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2018. Her performances featured a large marching-band concept, elaborate choreography, and appearances by members of Destiny’s Child. The shows became widely known as “Beychella.”
Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé was released on Netflix in April 2019. It combines concert footage with behind-the-scenes material about rehearsals, production, and Beyoncé’s preparation. The film also accompanied a live album. Her Coachella performances were historically significant because she became the festival’s first Black woman headliner.
