What concealed weapon is a signature tool of the Assassins in the Assassin’s Creed series?

The story behind the answer

The hidden blade is a signature concealed weapon of the Assassins in the Assassin’s Creed series.

Worn beneath the forearm, it can extend into the hand for a close-range strike while remaining difficult to detect. The weapon became one of the series’ defining visual symbols, alongside the Assassins’ hooded robes and eagle imagery.

Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad receives a redesigned hidden blade in the first game after innovations by the Assassin engineer Abbas Sofian. Later games show numerous variations, including paired blades and versions integrated with other mechanisms. The phantom blade is a different weapon introduced in Assassin’s Creed Unity, while the Apple of Eden is a powerful Isu artifact rather than a conventional weapon.
