What common name is used for the Biles II vault in women's gymnastics?

The Biles II vault is commonly called the Yurchenko double pike. It begins with a round-off onto the springboard and a back handspring onto the vaulting table, followed by two backward somersaults in a piked position.

Simone Biles first landed the vault in competition at the 2021 U.S. Classic in Indianapolis. She later performed it at the 2023 World Championships in Antwerp, where it officially received her name under the International Gymnastics Federation's naming system. It became the Biles II because another vault was already known as the Biles.

The name can cause confusion with the Amanar, which is a Yurchenko-style vault with two and a half twists, and the Cheng, which uses a half-on entry followed by a forward salto with one and a half twists. The Yurchenko double pike has no twist in the somersault itself; its defining challenge is generating enough height for two flips while maintaining the pike shape.
