What are the names of Donald Duck's three nephews?
Answer
Huey, Dewey, and Louie
Answer
Huey, Dewey, and Louie
The names of Donald Duck’s three nephews are Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
They are identical triplet ducks and the sons of Donald’s sister, Della Duck. In the 1938 animated short Donald’s Nephews, their mother is called Dumbella; later stories generally use Della. Donald becomes their guardian, and the boys eventually become permanent members of his household.
The trio first appeared in print in a 1937 Donald Duck newspaper strip and made their animated debut in Donald’s Nephews in 1938. Their names were devised from the names of Huey Long, Thomas Dewey, and Disney animator Louis Schmitt. In many stories, their matching appearance makes them difficult to distinguish, although classic color-coding often gives Huey red, Dewey blue, and Louie green.
A common mix-up is confusing them with Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse, who are Mickey Mouse’s nephews. Huey, Dewey, and Louie also appear in DuckTales and are Junior Woodchucks, a scouting group that highlights their cleverer, more heroic side.
