Spyro composer Stewart Copeland was the drummer for which band?
Answer
The Police
Answer
The Police
Spyro composer Stewart Copeland was the drummer for The Police. He co-founded the English rock band with Sting and guitarist Andy Summers, and his distinctive percussion became a defining part of the group’s sound.
Copeland also brought his rhythmic style to video-game music. He composed the soundtracks for the first four Spyro games: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, and Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. He often played through levels before writing music so each track would match its setting and mood.
For Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Copeland composed a new main theme, while the original game music was rearranged for the remake. His work is one reason the early Spyro games are remembered for having unusually prominent and varied soundtracks.
The Police are sometimes confused with other British or American rock groups from the same era. The band’s best-known members were Copeland, Sting, and Andy Summers, and it was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
