Answer
November 15, 2011
Rayman Origins first launched in North America on November 15, 2011.
The release was the return of Rayman to a traditional side-scrolling platform format after the franchise had spent several years centered on the Raving Rabbids spin-offs. Ubisoft Montpellier developed the game, and Michel Ancel helped shape its distinctive visual and gameplay direction.
The North American launch covered the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii versions. Other regional releases followed later: the game reached Australia on November 24, 2011, and Europe on November 25, 2011. Later versions appeared on systems including PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Windows and mobile platforms.
Rayman Origins introduced the UbiArt Framework, which let artists create richly animated 2D assets that could be used directly in the game world. It supports up to four-player local cooperative play, with players rescuing Electoons, collecting Lums and battling nightmare creatures across the Glade of Dreams.
