On which mountain did the Ark come to rest in the Quran?

The story behind the answer

In the Quran, the Ark comes to rest on Mount Judi.

Surah Hud, verse 11:44, says that after the floodwaters subsided, the Ark settled on al-Judi. The Quranic account differs in several details from Genesis, although both narratives feature Noah, a flood, an ark, and the preservation of a believing household.

Mount Judi is traditionally associated with the Cudi Mountains in southeastern Turkey, close to the modern borders of Iraq and Syria. The identification is a matter of religious and historical tradition, not a confirmed archaeological discovery of the ark.

Mount Ararat is the location most commonly associated with Noah’s Ark in popular culture and with interpretations of Genesis, which refers to the “mountains of Ararat.” That is distinct from the Quran’s explicit reference to Mount Judi, so the two names should not be treated as interchangeable.
