On which floor is the world’s highest outdoor observation deck at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa?

The story behind the answer

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has the world’s highest outdoor observation deck on its 148th floor.

The attraction, called At the Top SKY, opened in 2014 and sits about 555 metres above ground. Visitors reach it by high-speed elevators before entering a premium observation area with indoor and outdoor viewing spaces.

The Burj Khalifa also has public observation areas on the 124th and 125th floors. Those lower decks are much more frequently mentioned, which can lead to confusion between the building’s main observation experience and its highest observation deck.

The tower opened in 2010 in Dubai’s Downtown district and remains the world’s tallest building. Its observation levels provide views across the city, desert, and Persian Gulf, while the structure’s height required extensive engineering for wind and foundation loads.
