On what date was Palworld first revealed?

The story behind the answer

Palworld was first revealed on June 5, 2021. Pocketpair introduced it as an open-world survival game combining creature collection, crafting, exploration, combat, and multiplayer.

The reveal immediately drew attention because its “Pals” could be captured, trained, assigned to base work, and used in battles involving modern weapons. That mix gave the game its widely repeated “Pokémon with guns” comparison, although Palworld also drew heavily from survival-crafting games such as Pocketpair’s earlier Craftopia.

The reveal date is easy to confuse with later milestones. Summer Game Fest in 2023 announced the January 2024 Early Access window, while Palworld actually launched on January 19, 2024. Those are promotional and release events, not the original reveal.

After the 2021 announcement, Pocketpair released additional trailers and showcased the game at events including Tokyo Game Show. The project’s scope expanded during development, pushing it beyond its early target and eventually leading to its Early Access launch on PC and Xbox.
