On what date did the Xbox 360 launch in Japan?

The story behind the answer

The Xbox 360 launched in Japan on December 10, 2005.

Microsoft released the Xbox 360 first in North America on November 22, 2005, followed by Europe and Australia on December 2. Japan received the console eight days later, completing the system's original launch window.

The Japanese launch included titles such as Ridge Racer 6, Perfect Dark Zero, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Microsoft had hoped that stronger support from Japanese publishers would help the Xbox 360 compete more effectively with Sony and Nintendo in Japan.

The Japanese date is sometimes confused with the North American launch because both occurred in the same month. The Xbox 360 ultimately became Microsoft's best-selling console, with more than 84 million units sold worldwide.
