On what date did Apollo 11 launch from Florida for its historic Moon mission?

Apollo 11 launched from Florida on July 16, 1969, beginning the first mission to land humans on the Moon.

The Saturn V rocket lifted off from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center at 9:32 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The spacecraft carried commander Neil Armstrong, lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, and command module pilot Michael Collins.

Apollo 11 reached lunar orbit three days later. Armstrong and Aldrin landed the lunar module Eagle on July 20, while Collins remained in lunar orbit aboard Columbia. The launch date is sometimes confused with July 20, the date of the landing, or July 24, the date of splashdown.
