#NoDAPL opposed construction of which oil pipeline?

The story behind the answer

#NoDAPL opposed construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The hashtag became a rallying point during protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline, a crude-oil project planned to run from North Dakota through South Dakota and Iowa to an oil terminal near Patoka, Illinois. The project was designed to carry oil from the Bakken Formation, a major shale-oil region.

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and allied activists objected to the route because of concerns about water protection, treaty rights, cultural sites, and the consultation process. Protest camps and demonstrations near the Standing Rock Reservation drew international attention in 2016, making #NoDAPL one of the most recognizable environmental and Indigenous-rights hashtags of the decade.

Construction began in 2016, and the pipeline became commercially operational in June 2017. Later court proceedings required additional environmental review, particularly concerning the section beneath Lake Oahe. The hashtag is specific to the Dakota Access project, not to the separate Keystone XL, Enbridge Line 3, or Trans-Alaska pipelines.
