Star Wars Funko Pop! figures first appeared in 2011.
Funko’s Pop! line uses stylized vinyl figures with oversized heads and simplified facial features. Star Wars became one of the major licensed properties in the range, bringing characters such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and stormtroopers into the distinctive Pop! format. The first Star Wars releases arrived in 2011, before the line expanded into many film, television, convention and retailer exclusives.
These figures are different from Funko’s earlier bobble-head products, which used a more conventional character proportion and presentation. Star Wars Pop! figures are also commonly identified as bobble-heads because licensing arrangements for Star Wars collectibles have often used that format.
Collectors distinguish regular releases by their catalog numbers, stickers and edition markings. Shared exclusives and convention editions can look similar to standard figures, but their packaging stickers and availability may affect collecting interest and secondary-market prices.
