Novak Djokovic held all four Grand Slam titles simultaneously in 2016, completing the feat by winning the French Open. His run covered Wimbledon 2015, the 2015 US Open, the 2016 Australian Open, and the 2016 French Open.
The achievement is often called the “Nole Slam” because it crossed two calendar years. It was not a calendar-year Grand Slam, since Djokovic did not win all four majors in 2015 or 2016 alone, but he won four consecutive major tournaments. His French Open victory over Andy Murray, 3–6, 6–1, 6–2, 6–4, completed the sequence.
The triumph also completed Djokovic’s career Grand Slam: he had previously won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open, but not Roland-Garros. He became the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four major titles at once, and the first to do so across three different court surfaces.
