Beyoncé headlined the Glastonbury Festival in 2011.
She performed on the Pyramid Stage on June 26, 2011, during the festival’s final day. Her headline appearance made her the first woman to top the festival’s main stage since 1997 and the first female solo headliner there since 1997’s performance by Shania Twain. The event took place at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England.
Beyoncé’s set included songs from her solo catalog, including material from the album 4, which was released shortly afterward in June 2011. The performance combined live singing, choreography, a large backing band, and visual production suited to the festival’s huge audience.
Glastonbury has several major stages, so “headlining Glastonbury” conventionally refers to the top-billed act on one of the festival’s principal stages, especially the Pyramid Stage. Beyoncé’s 2011 appearance is distinct from her later festival headline at Coachella in 2018.
