In which U.S. city was singer Beyoncé born?

Beyoncé was born in Houston, Texas, on September 4, 1981.

She grew up in Houston and began performing in local competitions and talent shows as a child. Her early training included singing and dancing, skills that later became central to her career as a solo performer and member of Destiny's Child.

Houston is also closely connected with Beyoncé's public identity. The city appears in her biography, has celebrated her achievements, and influenced the musical environment in which she developed. Some biographies mention nearby Texas cities because of her family's connections, but Houston is the specific birthplace listed for Beyoncé.

Her birthplace is sometimes confused with her later bases in New York or Los Angeles, where major parts of her professional career developed. Those cities were important to her work, but Houston is the correct answer to this biographical question.
