In which James Bond film does the henchman Jaws first appear?
Answer
The Spy Who Loved Me
Answer
The Spy Who Loved Me
The henchman Jaws first appears in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
Released in 1977, The Spy Who Loved Me is the tenth Eon-produced Bond film and the third to star Roger Moore as 007. Jaws is played by American actor Richard Kiel, who was exceptionally tall and became one of the franchise’s most recognizable supporting villains.
Jaws is distinguished by his steel teeth, which make him a memorable physical threat rather than a conventional gun-wielding enemy. In the film, he works for shipping magnate Karl Stromberg and repeatedly survives encounters that appear fatal, including a fall from a building and a train crash.
A common mix-up is to associate Jaws primarily with Moonraker, because he returns there in 1979 and receives a more comic storyline. However, The Spy Who Loved Me is his debut, and Kiel is the only actor to play Jaws in both films.
