In which film did Beyoncé play the character Deena Jones?

Beyoncé played the character Deena Jones in the film Dreamgirls.

Dreamgirls is a 2006 musical drama film directed by Bill Condon and adapted from the Broadway musical of the same name. Beyoncé portrays Deena Jones, a singer whose group rises from a promising vocal act to major commercial success.

The film also stars Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, and Anika Noni Rose. Its story is fictional, but it draws on themes associated with the history of American R&B and the crossover success of groups such as the Supremes.

Deena Jones is not a direct biographical portrayal of Beyoncé. Beyoncé's role is instead part of an ensemble story about ambition, management, artistic control, and the pressures of fame. She also recorded songs for the film, including “Listen,” which became one of its best-known musical numbers.
