Answer
Austin Powers in Goldmember
Beyoncé made her acting debut as Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in Goldmember, released in 2002.
The film is the third entry in the Austin Powers comedy series, starring Mike Myers as the British spy parody character. Beyoncé plays Foxxy Cleopatra, an undercover FBI agent and Austin’s former partner. The character’s style draws on 1970s blaxploitation cinema and disco-era fashion.
Beyoncé also contributed the song “Work It Out” to the film’s soundtrack. The single became an early showcase for her as a solo performer, arriving before Dangerously in Love.
Her later acting roles included Carmen’s parts in the television film Carmen: A Hip Hopera, Deena Jones in Dreamgirls, and Nala in The Lion King. Dreamgirls is often mistakenly named as her film debut, but Austin Powers in Goldmember came first.
