Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was released in 2009.
Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, it was the second main game in the Uncharted series and originally launched for PlayStation 3. The story follows Nathan Drake, Chloe Frazer and Elena Fisher as they search for the Cintamani Stone and the legendary city of Shambhala while pursued by Zoran Lazarević’s militia.
The year is sometimes confused with 2008 because development began soon after the success of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, which was released in 2007. It is also easy to mistake 2011 for the sequel’s year because Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception arrived that year.
Among Thieves became one of the most acclaimed games of its generation. Its expanded cinematic presentation, motion capture, climbing sequences and first multiplayer mode helped establish the series’ signature style. In 2015, it was remastered for PlayStation 4 as part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
