In what year was Fendi founded?
Answer
1925
Answer
1925
Fendi was founded in 1925. Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi established the Roman fashion house as a fur and leather-goods business, beginning a family enterprise that would later become an international luxury brand.
The founders opened their first shop on Rome’s Via del Plebiscito. A second boutique on Via Piave helped attract tourists and build the company’s reputation for leather craftsmanship and fur. In the 1940s, the founders’ five daughters joined the business and guided its next phase of growth.
The year 1925 is sometimes confused with later milestones: Karl Lagerfeld joined Fendi in 1965, the double-F logo appeared in 1966, and LVMH became the majority shareholder in 2001. Those dates mark important developments, but none is the founding year.
