In which building is Fendi's headquarters located?

The story behind the answer

Fendi’s headquarters is located in the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome. The fashion house moved into the monumental building in the EUR district in 2015, making the structure both a corporate headquarters and a prominent part of Fendi’s Roman identity.

The Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana was designed by Giovanni Guerrini, Ernesto Bruno La Padula, and Mario Romano. Construction began in 1938 for the planned 1942 Esposizione Universale Roma, although the exhibition never took place as intended because of World War II.

Its repeated arches led to the nickname “Square Colosseum.” The building is a major example of Italian Rationalist architecture, but its origins are also tied to Fascist-era planning under Benito Mussolini. Fendi’s use of the site therefore combines fashion, architecture, and a complicated historical legacy.

The company planned to preserve public exhibition space on the ground floor while using the building for its operations. Piazza di Spagna, Villa Medici, and Teatro dell’Opera are important Roman places, but none is Fendi’s headquarters.
