At which Roman landmark did Fendi hold a 2016 fashion show?
Answer
Trevi Fountain
Answer
Trevi Fountain
Fendi held its 2016 fashion show at Rome’s Trevi Fountain. The event marked the house’s 90th anniversary and placed a contemporary runway against one of the city’s most famous Baroque monuments.
The show was part of Fendi’s long relationship with Rome. Founded in the city in 1925, the company has repeatedly connected its collections, stores, and cultural projects with Roman architecture and public landmarks. Choosing the Trevi Fountain made that identity especially visible.
The fountain was designed principally by Nicola Salvi, with the project completed by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762. Its theatrical composition shows Oceanus commanding a chariot drawn by sea horses, surrounded by allegorical figures and rockwork.
The landmark is often confused with the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, or Colosseum because all are prominent Roman settings used in fashion and tourism. Fendi’s anniversary runway, however, took place at the Trevi Fountain, not at those neighboring attractions.
