Beyoncé released her album Renaissance in 2022.
Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records released Renaissance on July 29, 2022. It is Beyoncé’s seventh studio album and the first installment of a planned three-part project, later referred to as the Renaissance trilogy.
The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul,” arrived in June 2022 and became Beyoncé’s first solo Billboard Hot 100 number-one single since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” Renaissance draws heavily on dance, house, disco, funk, and Black queer club traditions.
The album received widespread critical acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. Its release year is sometimes confused with 2023 because the Renaissance World Tour took place mainly in 2023 and because Beyoncé’s next album, Cowboy Carter, arrived in 2024.
