In what year was AC/DC's album 'Powerage' released?

The story behind the answer

AC/DC’s album Powerage was released in 1978.

It was the Australian hard rock band’s fifth studio album and appeared during the group’s classic Bon Scott era. The UK release arrived on May 5, 1978, followed by the United States release later that month. Its songs include “Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation,” “Riff Raff,” “Sin City,” and “Down Payment Blues.”

Powerage is sometimes confused with 1977’s Let There Be Rock or 1979’s Highway to Hell, the album that followed it. It also marked Cliff Williams’s first AC/DC studio album as bassist, although some tracks involved complicated recording histories and alternate credits. Early editions varied by market, including differences in mixes and track listings. Atlantic Records wanted a more radio-friendly song, prompting the addition of “Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation” during the sessions. The album was later reissued in 2003 as part of AC/DC’s Remasters series.
