In what year did Hasbro introduce its Star Wars: The Vintage Collection action-figure line?

The story behind the answer

Hasbro introduced the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection action-figure line in 2010.

The Vintage Collection was designed as a collector-oriented continuation of Hasbro’s Star Wars figure program. Its packaging deliberately reproduced the visual style of classic Kenner cardbacks, connecting modern releases with the original action figures first sold in the late 1970s. Figures generally used modern sculpting and articulation while preserving the vintage presentation.

The line drew characters from across the Star Wars films and expanded universe. Releases commonly appeared on cardbacks styled after familiar original figures, which made the packaging itself part of the collectible appeal. The range therefore combined updated toys with deliberate historical nostalgia.

The 2010 launch should not be confused with The Black Series, Hasbro’s separate collector line of larger, typically six-inch figures introduced in 2013. Nor is it the same as the earlier Power of the Force revival line, which began in 1995.
