In what year did Decipher release the Star Wars Customizable Card Game?

The story behind the answer

Decipher released the Star Wars Customizable Card Game in 1995.

The game was based on the original Star Wars trilogy and later expanded to include material from The Phantom Menace. Players built decks from cards representing characters, locations, vehicles, weapons, and other elements of the Star Wars universe. Its customizable-deck format distinguished it from ordinary fixed-pack trading-card games.

The Premiere set launched the game, followed by expansions such as A New Hope, Hoth, Dagobah, Cloud City, and Jabba's Palace. Decipher retained the license for several years before Wizards of the Coast took over Star Wars collectible card games. The game is sometimes confused with the later Star Wars Trading Card Game, which Wizards of the Coast introduced in 2002.
