In what year did Beyoncé release her album 4?
Answer
2011
Answer
2011
Beyoncé released her album 4 in 2011.
Columbia Records issued 4 on June 24, 2011, in several international markets, with the North American release following on June 28. The title referred to the number four’s personal importance to Beyoncé: her birthday is September 4, her mother’s birthday is January 4, and her wedding anniversary is April 4.
The album followed I Am... Sasha Fierce and presented a more traditional R&B and pop approach. Its singles included “Run the World (Girls),” “Best Thing I Never Had,” “Party,” and “Love on Top.” “Love on Top” later became especially associated with Beyoncé’s live vocal performances.
4 debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, giving Beyoncé her fourth consecutive album to reach that position in the United States. It is sometimes confused with the year 2004 because the title is only a number, but the album belongs to the early 2010s and was recorded after the I Am... World Tour.
