In what month and year was Halo: Campaign Evolved officially announced?

The story behind the answer

Halo: Campaign Evolved was officially announced in October 2025.

Halo Studios revealed the game during the 2025 Halo World Championship, presenting it as a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign. The announcement introduced the title, its Unreal Engine 5 technology, updated presentation, and planned releases for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5.

The reveal also included a developer roundtable and a thirteen-minute gameplay demonstration of The Silent Cartographer. That presentation highlighted the project’s balance between familiarity and change, including refreshed visuals, refined controls, new missions, expanded equipment, and cooperative play.

October 2025 can be confused with October 2024 because Halo Studios had already discussed its move to Unreal Engine 5 and shown Project Foundry around that time. Project Foundry was an earlier technology and art-direction exploration; it was not the official announcement of Campaign Evolved itself.
