Stinky Pete is a mint-condition prospector doll modeled on a character from the fictional television program Woody’s Roundup. He is discovered alongside Woody, Jessie and Bullseye, and initially appears to be an older, wise toy who understands the group’s history. His name comes from his packaging identity, while “the Prospector” describes the character he plays.

His villainy is revealed when he secretly sabotages Woody’s attempt to escape. Stinky Pete wants the Roundup Gang sent to a Japanese toy museum, where they would be preserved and displayed rather than played with by a child. He blames space-themed toys such as Buzz Lightyear for ending the popularity of Western toys after the launch of Sputnik.
