In Tim Burton’s 1989 film Batman, what chemical company does Jack Napier fall into?
Answer
Axis Chemicals
Answer
Axis Chemicals
In Tim Burton’s Batman, Jack Napier falls into a vat at Axis Chemicals.
Jack Napier, played by Jack Nicholson, is a gangster who is betrayed during a police operation arranged by crime boss Carl Grissom. Batman confronts Napier inside the Axis Chemicals plant, where the gangster falls into industrial chemicals. He survives, but the accident permanently changes his appearance and helps create the Joker.
The Axis Chemicals sequence adapts a familiar origin element from Batman comics, although the 1989 film gives Napier a much larger role in Batman’s personal history. It also presents Napier as the killer of Bruce Wayne’s parents, linking the Joker directly to Batman’s origin in this version of the story.
Axis Chemicals is fictional. It should not be confused with Wayne Enterprises, the company associated with Bruce Wayne, or LexCorp, a fictional company from Superman stories.
